Does this actually cool, or just blow air?

It does both. Two semiconductor (Peltier) plates contact your neck and actively pull heat from your skin — that drops surface temperature 18–22°C. Two brushless fans push the cooled air around your collarbone and chest. The cooling is real and measurable; bring an infrared thermometer.

How does it perform at 38–40°C ambient?

Cooling effect is most pronounced when ambient is below 35°C. Above that, the temperature gradient between the plate and ambient air gets smaller, so absolute cooling is reduced — but VAYUU still delivers a 12–15°C skin temperature drop at 40°C ambient, which is the difference between miserable and bearable.

Is it noisy?

≤60 dB on max speed (close to a normal conversation), ≤40 dB on minimum (whisper level). You can wear it in a café or a meeting on lower speeds without anyone noticing.

Will my hair get caught?

No. The fans are bladeless from the user side — air is pushed through micro-channels in the housing. Long hair, scarves, and beards are safe.

How long does the battery actually last?

14 hours with cooling on min speed, 11 hours on max. 24 hours fan-only on min. Charges fully in ~3 hours via USB-C. Works while plugged in.
